It's March, and suddenly the hockey arenas are empty. We arrived at Parade for our game today and no one was around. The main sheet was empty, and just before we started our game the custodians turned off the lights. The south rink, where our game was scheduled, had been vacant for the hour before our game, too. We can see the end of the season from here, and like most endings it comes with mixed feelings. But let's save that for another time. There are still two weeks left, and during that time we'll have the chance to right old wrongs and meet new opponents.
It's easy to get fond of our familiar opponents. We start to recognize many of their players, and know how to respond to their playing style. Today the Spartans prevailed over the Minneapolis Park Storm, giving us a record of 3-1 against them, unofficially.
Here's Max B., looking to break up a play.
Hunter on defense.
Marco looking to cross the blue line, with Henri close behind.
Willy working the corner.
This should look familiar. As before, Max D. lost his balance in front of the net, but still managed to make the shot, although it didn't go in, this time.
