Some small towns have points of interest, but New Ulm has them all over the map. It's off topic to go through them all, but I mentioned Hermann (the German) earlier so here he is. Who knew a small town on the Minnesota prairie would have a monument worthy of a European capital? First, the plaque:

And heeerrre's Hermann. Sorry it's just a shot of the back of the monument. It's on the top of a steep hill, facing the town and the river, and I didn't feel like trudging down to make a photo.
