Scrimmage v Mound, Part 1

The scrimmage against Mound took place at the very spiffy Mound-Westonka High School Rink, which is named after David M. Thaler. My cursory search of the Web to get information on Mr. Thaler scored lots of hits, but no useful information. He'll have to remain a mystery until someone either does a better search or goes back to the rink to find the plaque. There's always a plaque.

The home team in Mound scored early against us. They played a good game and in my opinion looked a bit stronger than the Richfield team at the start of the game. But our Spartans perservered, and their scoring was led by Hunter's rocket shot from nearly the blue line that hit maybe five players before finding the net. You'll see a photo in a later post. Later Dylan was skating on goal, followed closely by Max B. Dylan, faced with oncoming defensemen, drop-passed the puck to Max B. who put it in the net. We finished with a 2-2 tie, in a very exciting game.

Here are some photo highlights, in no particular order.

Garrett getting into position.

Marco stickhandles his way past the red line...

...but in another episode gets hung up in a traffic jam with the opposition.

Here's Eric fighting his way along with the puck.
